SAAVETX Education Fund has already made historic impact. We are standing up for South Asians when no one else was. Our highest-impact work includes:
1. Building the largest South Asian civic outreach network in Texas: From college chapters to city-based teams, we have trained leaders, hosted town halls, and created multilingual resources to ensure South Asians are counted, informed, and represented.
2. Advocating during hate crimes: When a serious hate crime case was being covered up, we refused to stay silent. We worked tirelessly to protect our community, raise awareness, and push for accountability. SAAVETX EF is creating infrastructure to support our community.
3. Engaging elected officials statewide: We have met with 140 Texas representatives and educated during the legislative session. SAAVETX EF has created relationships 50 elected officials — from city hall to federal offices — about the opportunities and importance of investing in South Asian communities and building a better Texas.
4. Building measurable civic power: While South Asian communities historically participated below the state average, our programs have changed that trajectory. Today, South Asian turnout is consistently 2–4 points above the state average in every election we have targeted.
